April

April has been a crazy month so far. Hazel and I have been sick for most of it with sinus issues, but we're on the mend. Hazel however, will no longer eat, and that has been the most awful, emotional, stressful thing EVER! Hopefully it had to do with the cold, and she'll start eating again soon. (Someone please tell me that breastfeeding gets easier. It's been three months, I feel like I should have it down by now)! Due to that, we've been pretty home bound, with the exception of Travis and Easter.

Hazel at 13 weeks old

I was super sick Sunday April 5th, but that didn't stop me for seeing my favorite Scottish band, Travis. It was a great show! Erin, Dan and I have seen them four times now in the last six years. We love them! They never disappoint.

We also had a great Easter. Somehow we made it to the morning Church service (a miracle in it of itself), got home, made cheesy potatoes, feed Hazel (again a miracle) and then drove down to Dan's sister's house in DuPont. It was great to spend the day with family.

Yesterday Hazie turned 14 weeks and rolled over (from back to tummy) for the first time. She did it a few times, of course never when I was videotaping. She's such a happy baby, and fills Dan and I with so much joy!

All in all, life is good. I just pray that Hazel will start eating again.

Sweet Baby Face

The many faces of Hazel Mae! These were all taken within about a minute. My favorites are 2, 5, and 8.

I know I'm bias, but isn't that just the cutest face?

Sicky

Hazel + Boogers = Not much sleep at night

But she's still oh so cute! I just wish she'd shake this cold, she's had it for quite a while.

Birthday Blessings

It's not even noon and I'm already having a fantastic day!

Guess what Hazel got me for my birthday...She went 8 hours between feedings last night! Then another 3 so I could sleep even more. She's so great.

And then when I came up this morning, I was greeted with beautiful flowers and a Starbucks Americano from my wonderful Husband!

The sun is out and it's so gorgeous outside, and I'm getting calls and facebook messages from my loved ones wishing me a happy day! I feel blessed and oh so loved!

Tonight Dan is taking me to Jak's for dinner and I just can't wait! Potato Pancakes here I come! And I'll be able to enjoy my first Cosmo in a YEAR! Happy Day indeed!

Stats and Stories

Hazel is 9 weeks old today. She had her 2 month checkup on Friday and she's in the 50th percentile on weight - 10lbs 15oz, and 75th-90th percentile on height - 23 1/4 inches. She is smiling now and is trying so hard to suck her thumb.

She got to meet Uncle Brian this weekend, which was a special treat. Hopefully in May she'll be able to meet Auntie Kellie.

So if you've met Hazie-Mae you know that she's not a screamer. We've been so blessed to have a pretty mellow, easy going baby. She's only really wailed three times. Once at her 2 week checkup when they were taking her blood, once on Friday at her two month checkup when they gave her 3 shots, and once on Saturday night when I was feeding her while watching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy did a dance off with Cameron Diaz and it made me laugh really hard. (If you've heard me laugh, you know it's a bit on the louder side). It must have been quite loud because it spooked Hazel into a complete frenzy. She cried just as hard as when she got her shots the day before and it took me at least 3 minutes to get her to calm back down to finish eating. It was pretty funny; (both Jimmy Fallon and the fact that my laughter terrifies my daughter)!
