MONTANA

Road Trip! We headed out to Montana on Thursday morning. It's about an 8 our drive, but we traveled at Hazel speed, so it was more like 10 hours! She did great going there, however coming home yesterday was not so fun. She did well up until Spokane, and then was done...for the next 4 hours!!! She did fine when we'd stop and take her out of the car seat, or if we were singing and shaking the rattle (which we did from about Ellensburg on). We were completely drained by the time we got home!

We went out to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa Ortman's 65th Wedding Anniversary! It was great to see all the family on Sunday at the party.

I was especially excited to see Heidi (Ortman) Mager, who I hadn't seen for probably 15 years, (since camp days). It's fun to now be related to her. She has a little girl, Rowan, who's only 5 days younger than Hazel!

Hazel has now met all 8 of her Great Grand parents!

It's so beautiful and peaceful out there. We just love being there, relaxing and having fun. We try to make it out at least once a year.

Hazel's new favorite thing to do is chew/suck on the bottom of our cold beverages!

Update on food...no update at all. It's been about a month of trying rice cereal, and she doesn't really do much with it. (Notice the tongue out in the first picture). I think I'm just gonna move to veggies and see how that goes.

Grandma's Are Magical

My mom was in town from Wednesday - Sunday. It was so fantastic to have her here. She's so great with Hazel, and it's nice to get a wee break myself.

On Thursday we ran some errands and just hung out and caught up.

On Friday we went to the Seattle Children's Museum with Pete and Sarah, Stephanie, Grant, Lexi, Shea and Jordyn. And that night we had dinner at Grandma Irwin's with everyone.

Saturday we all went to a wedding, and then Dan and I left Hazel with Grandma while we went to another wedding. It was so fun to get out and dance the night away!

Sunday was Dan's first Father's Day as a dad. We had blueberry pancakes with bacon and Starbucks Americanos. Then we dropped mom off at the airport and headed to my Dad's for a quick swim with Pete and Sarah. Dan got a Red Mill Burger for dinner and we headed home. Are these two not the CUTEST pair you've ever seen!

I love having my mom here, but it's always sad when she has to leave. Selfishly, my life would be so much easier if she was here! I could drop off Hazie for doctor appointments, haircuts, and date nights. Plus, she's so motivated that I'm sure my house would be painted by now, and more things hung on the walls. But alas, at least we get to see her as often as we do!

Spontaneity is Good

Well we didn't have Yelp-Friday this week...but that's casue we spontaneously decided to go to the cabin! It was a good choice to say the least.

We were originally going to go on some hikes this weekend around the area, but decided we could just hike at the cabin instead. On Saturday, we got all ready and headed out: baby in the Ergo, camera loaded, dog on leash, etc. After about 10 minutes we heard thunder...and about 2 minutes following that, big rain drops started to fall. We quickly turned around and started back to the cabin, when the skies opened and it started to POUR. I couldn't really run with Hazel strapped in, but we walked fast/slow jogged back. In the few minutes it took us to get home, we were SOAKED! So we didn't go hiking this weekend, but we did have a great time!

You can really tell from Dan's shorts, how drenched we got.

In other news, I mentioned in my last post that Hazel found her feet. Well, no now she eats them!

And here's our little nano

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

It's been a busy, relaxing, enjoyable couple of days. Dan and I now celebrate Yelp-Friday! The last two Friday's we've picked what kind of food we wanted for dinner, and then searched yelp.com to find the best place. On the 29th we wanted gyros and found Mr. Gyro's in Greenwood. IT WAS FANTASTIC! Best gyro I've ever had! Then this week we wanted Indian, so we found Mayuri Indian Cuisine in Bellevue. It too was delicious, (it was no Mother India's in Scotland, but it was good). We're thinking Sushi this Friday, but we'll see.

On Saturday we went boating with Dan's parent. It was Hazel's first time on a boat and she did well. Even took a nap!

She loves her "lamby"

Sunday we went to our nephew Chris's graduation party. Hazel's oldest cousin is graduating from high school tonight!!! We're so proud of him!

On Monday we hosted our Monday Movie Night with a BBQ, and we celebrated Brian Terreson's 20th Birthday. It was great to have it again and hangout with everyone.

We told them to make their best sad face

And this afternoon Hazel and I just played on our blanket with Sadie.

She found both her feet last week and loves them

And that's what I've been doing the past few days!
