Cabin Time!

Last weekend was fabulous! We went to the cabin up in the Snoqualmie/Hyak area, with my brother and his family (Pete, Sarah, Stephanie, Grant, & Lexi). We ate, hiked, fished (via the wii) and lounged around. I adore being with family so much, it's a shame my brothers don't live closer!

We just had so much fun. We probably hiked over 6 miles on Saturday and Sunday. I got two blisters, but it was well worth it! The next picture shows my primary view as I tried to keep up with everyone, (but as you can see the weather was amazing and the fall colors were so beautiful).

Two of the, "you had to be there moments" that were hilarious:
~ Grant says, "Xander poop!" and as Sarah is saying "where?", she steps in it. Grant says, "Right there mommy!"
~ As Dan is reeling in a big fish (via the wii fishing game), Pete gets so excited he jerks his hand in a reeling motion and proceeds to dump his wine all over his shirt!

I'm 31 weeks now, we've reached single digits until she's due. 9 weeks!!! It blows my mind! We're so excited to meet her. Baby and I are doing well, everything seems to be normal/right on schedule. She's a fighter, or a dancer, or an acrobat of sorts; she's moving all the time! We start our childbirth classes tonight, so there may be funny stories to come. (I keep picturing the scenes form Baby Mama). I'm really looking forward to halloween...but that will be for another post!

I did something this week, that I think every woman does at some point during pregnancy...I bought some slip-ons! It's sooooo much easier than bending over! Plus my doctor doesn't like me wearing my high heels. I believe her exact words were, "How long are you going to wear those before you fall over?" I have yet to loose my sense of balance, but I know at some point I will, especially as my belly changes my center of gravity.

I had another checkup today, (I go in every two weeks now, which is so crazy)! Baby is doing great. After measuring my belly, my doctor said she is on the "low end of normal." Which I think just means, she's a little smaller, but still totally a healthy and normal size. At our 20 week ultrasound we were told the same sorta thing. I think he said she was in the 30th or 40th percentile, (50th being average). I am perfectly happy with our little girl being on the smaller side!

Weekend Photos

We had a great weekend, and here are some pictures, as promised in the previous post! Dan's reunion was good. He was glad he went, (I had a good time too). We took the camera, but left it in the car, so there's no pictures from the actual event, but we took two before hand.

And on Sunday we celebrated the Beautiful Erin Hanson's Birthday, with a Mad Hatter Tea Party! Here are some pics from the event. (Many more on facebook if you're interested).

No News is Good News?

I really have nothing blog-worthy to write about...So here's a hodgepodge of what I've been up to.

I'm loving the fall, (although, I can't believe October is already half over)! I love the cold days with the bright sunshine. I love the leaves and all their colors. I love the food: soups, squash, gingerbread cakes, and cocoa. I actually pulled out my wool coat today cause it's so cold! (Luckily it still fits over my belly)! I'm also enjoying my scarves!

The first half of the month was filled with good times! We celebrated Oktoberfest
at Haley and Ben's with Cheese Fondue, Sausages, Beer (not for me), and Pumpkin muffins. We had delicious homemade pizza at Steve & Kira's and played games all evening. I got a haircut, nothing drastic, just more layers. And thanks to netflix, we watched a BBC documentary called Galapagos: The Island That Changed the World, which was quite good!

Last weekend we had a wonderful brunch with Jeremy & Deena, and Beau & Bridget, and their wonderful kids! It was so nice to sit around the table chatting and munching on food for like 2 hours! We also registered at Babies R Us,which wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be! I was sick on Sunday, but it was still a nice weekend with some good R&R.

This weekend is full of fun plans. Friday night we're having dinner at our good friends Jon and Kirsten's place, with their two kids. On Saturday we're going to Dan's 10 Year High School Reunion! Luckily it's casual attire, so I can come up with something to wear! And then on Sunday we're celebrating our dear friend Erin's birthday! I'll take pictures of the reunion and celebration and post them Monday!

I got a call this afternoon saying our crib is in!!! It was supposed to be on back order until October 30th, so I wasn't expecting it until later in November. Hopefully we'll pick it up on Saturday. Then in November we can start to set up the nursery, which will be quite a task! We have to remove shelving, patch and paint the walls, and built the crib and dresser. Not to mention, punching a hole in the wall and adding an outlet! 11 weeks until baby girl is due so we should have the time to get it all done!

And that's been my October! Like I said, nothing too interesting to read about, but I've been having tons of fun!

*and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out to my Mom! (Her birthday is tomorrow, October 16th)! I love you mom and hope you have a wonderful day!

Favorites #3: Pushing Daisies

One of my favorite TV shows is Pushing Daisies! The second season just started last Wednesday, and it did not disappoint! It's just a happy, clean, cute show, with great characters, and so much vivid color! It's not really a drama, it's not action adventure, and it's not just a comedy...it's just Bright, Fun, and Happy, and I love it! It reminds me a little bit of something Dr. Seuss would make, with all the color and the narrator and such. How can you not love Olive, Ned, and Chuck?

Kristin Chenoweth as Olive Snook

Lee Pace as Ned

Anna Friel as Chuck
